The property was beautiful, steeped in history, and tastefully restored and decorated. Lucy was a great host—friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Leaving was the only downside.

“Comfortable in ideal location with excellent hosts.”

We had a very enjoyable, comfortable stay in the quiet Garden Lodge. The hosts were exceptionally warm, friendly, and accommodating, and they recommended several local top‑rated restaurants. We toured their garden and the large historic mansion with its well‑appointed, beautifully decorated suites and penthouse. Many interesting places are within easy driving distance, such as Avebury, Avebury Manor, Stonehenge, Heale Garden, the STEAM Railway Museum, and Swindon. Nearby are Caen Hill Locks, historic sites, and the Westbury White Horse, all with beautiful scenery. A bus stop is very close on the Devizes‑to‑Trowbridge route.

The owner was very friendly and keen to help us enjoy our stay. The building itself is amazing with an interesting history. The location was perfect for exploring nearby villages and was close to Devizes. The breakfast was lovely, and it was nice to stay somewhere different from most hotel rooms! A selection of fruit juices would have been nice, as my wife can’t drink orange, but that feels a bit picky.
