The hotel only let us borrow a hair dryer for a single hour, which seemed absurd because most places let guests keep it until they leave; I was worried it might disappear, especially since my own dryer is more expensive than the one they offered. The bedspread was far from clean, stained with something that looked like blood, and it didn’t seem like they could—or bothered—to wash or replace it.
