A lovely woodland escape; I especially suggest renting a boat to sail to the castle. There’s nothing to complain about.

We appreciated the rustic yet stylish décor. The shower ran very slowly, which I mentioned when we checked out. Another annoyance was the lack of a plug socket near the dressing table or mirror, making hair styling tricky.

“Loved being in nature for the whole weekend, no driving, no telly, just good company and fun”

The cabin setup was great for relaxing in the forest, and the common area and bar were perfect for meeting friends for drinks before heading back to our cabin. I didn’t get to use the spa this time, but will next visit. I love cooking, so the idea of self‑sufficiency was appealing. Some in our group thought the bar should offer lunch, even just soup and a sandwich, which I think would be a good idea.
