It’s still a lovely hotel that brings back memories of old times, and the surroundings are beautiful with rooms that are small but perfectly adequate. The breakfast doesn’t have to be luxurious, just fresh rolls, sausage, cheese, eggs, and a tasty coffee – everything is there and enough. The only downside for me was the lack of a kitchen in the evening and the inability to drink my favorite freshly tapped Freiberger Pils in the cozy restaurant. I now know the reasons for this and hope it will change someday.

The food is very good and affordable, the staff are very friendly, and the breakfast is excellent. Walking around is nice because the hotel is right next to the forest.

We stayed for a celebration, and while the room was a bit shabby it was welcoming and, most importantly, clean! Note that the front desk closes very early, so you must plan your arrival precisely. During the event the staff seemed overwhelmed by “extra requests,” but otherwise they were friendly and polite.

Breakfast was excellent, but the hotel offered no dinner because there was no staff. The beds were far too soft, and there were no curtains for the windows, so sunlight flooded the room all day. We stayed for a week and found no small fridge. The hotel feels old and needs some refurbishment.

“Trauriger und Enttäuschender dieses Jahr...”

The breakfast was generous, with fresh sausage, cheese, fruit, vegetables, juices and good coffee—everything you could wish for, but this year the reception was closed after I arrived around 17:00 and no one answered the phone; thanks to other guests I learned the fitness room was still staffed, and I passed that tip on to another newcomer. Dinner wasn’t available any night, only a brief note about a nearby kebab shop, which was disappointing because I came to enjoy good food and a freshly tapped Freiberger. The hotel’s large, well‑kept grounds and beer garden went unused, which hurts the business, and I hope the service issues improve.
