“An average stay with an amazingly comfortable bed which counts for a lot”
The bed was really comfortable and the area was in a great spot. We had no communication at all with the owners.

The spot is spot on – just a quick stroll past the end of the road, turn right and you’re on the beach or at the jetty in minutes. The bathroom was mostly tidy and stocked with nice toiletries, and they even had tea, coffee sachets and a little fridge with LL milk. Unfortunately the experience was underwhelming. The property has two suites in a big house (we stayed in one on the first floor), but the other rooms look like long‑term rentals with numbers on the doors. Noise was a problem coming from the other rooms, and on Thursday night we heard a heated argument, shouting, and tears echoing down the hallway. The hallway, stairs, and landing had grimy carpets, and our room’s carpet was stained and a large mat had an iron burn mark on it. Cobwebs hung from the curtain rail, the light shade, and even in the shower, and the bathroom window revealed a lot of dirt and cobwebs – just awful. There were hardly any power outlets, no chair or bedside table (we used the wooden seat by the dressing table as a makeshift table), no bedside lamp – only a floor‑standing lamp that required us to get out of bed to turn it off. The TV was big, but only BBC worked. A mess of cables was plugged into an extension lead for the lamp, fridge, and kettle, which felt like a health‑and‑safety hazard. A mirror was propped against the wall but there was no outlet nearby for a hairdryer. The bathroom taps were loose and not fixed. The bed was okay but not comfortable; pillows and covers had seen better days, and the four large cushions on the bed hadn’t been changed. The exterior light flickered and was too dim to see the keypad buttons, so we had to use a phone torch to get in. The black mugs and charcoal‑grey towels were not appealing, and there was no bathroom blind, so we could be seen at night with the light on. Luckily we were staying with family nearby, so we didn’t spend much time in the room.

The room was spacious, but we had no sockets for our devices, so we had to unplug two floor lamps; an extra extension would have helped.

The location was good and the place was well stocked, and everything else was fine.
