The staff were incredibly helpful, especially the concierge, and the free wine tasting was a lovely touch.

The only issue was the staircase leading up to our room, which wasn't mentioned beforehand and is a concern for my wife who is cardiac. I appreciated the 2020 and ordered two cases of it. The metal staircase was the problem.

A lovely spot for gear‑up and nature lovers, located away from big cities, which was what we wanted, plus great wine experiences. The restaurant is really good and so is the wine. We booked a log cabin, which was cozy, but we only stayed two days – the number of days we had planned. The bathroom drain smelled bad, and because there was no door, the odor spread throughout the cabin. Unfortunately, we saw signs of bed bugs in the cabin on the day we were to check out.
The room was pretty, but it was too expensive for what it was. It was under construction! The exterior was a wasteland. In short, a lot of potential but not finished.

The castle has a unique atmosphere that feels alive with history, which is a positive. It's an ambitious project and I expect even more to be added in the future. The Wi‑Fi was especially good. The wine tasting was informative, but the glasses could have held more wine for a better olfactory experience. Participants should be warned not to arrive wrapped in a perfume cloud, which unfortunately happened during my session. The wines could improve; the 2011 vintage has some charm.
