Location, friendly staff, clean room accessible . Breakfast set up. Blue badge Parking immediately outside building. 1). Insufficient blue badge parking,so parked immediately outside restaurant area. Checked with staff it was ok to leave car there. Car park was very full, not able to find normal parking place. But even if we had we would not be able to exit the car. 2) I asked how to get to the room. We were told to turn left out of the lift on the first floor, however, I was. It told the room was at the far end of the corridor , nor that I would need to negotiate a fire door . Had I been told the length of the corridor I would have put my elderly father in his wheelchair instead of walking with him on my arm. 3) in the room - A) A regular/frequent audit by maintenance would have brought the items below to attention and could have been corrected/repaired before our stay in room 127 B) the door had been forced in the past so the door could not be locked using the snob. The wood frame was damaged. It was hit-and-miss using the card to get in. It required several attempts. C) There was no device to hold the door open to get my father in/‘out in the wheelchair. D) using the kettle - the wall electrical switch was missing the plastic cover on the switch button, meaning that the lamp on the switch was exposed to little fingers. - safety issue. D) the toilet roll holder did not have the correct spindle the spindle was plastic with a large diameter ends, the holder had a very small depression to hold the spindle ends, so just touching the toilet roll meant it fell in the floor. Thus could be very difficult for someone less able. E) going down the corridor when housekeeping were operating meant we were unable to take the wheelchair through/or walk arm-in-arm, unless the trolleys were moved into the wider part of the corridor (I assume this was not done as it would bar the doors of the rooms in this area. I told receptionist of these issues before leaving she was pleased to receive feedback and said she would pass on the comment about advising on length of corridor

“wonderful”

I had a wonderful experience at Holiday Inn, thanks to Eileen at the front desk. She was incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional, with a warm smile and a beautiful appearance. Her kindness and excellent service made my stay even more enjoyable. She is truly a credit to the hotel, and I hope her outstanding service will be recognised. Thank you, Eileen, for making my stay so pleasant!

“Recent trip”

Cleanliness, comfort, breakfast included. Sat nav directions : said 3rd exit from roundabout but was 4th exit (hard in dark & wet conditions). Could hotel sign be more noticeable.bigger/not hidden by any trees etc. Prefer to pay cash for meals but only card payment accepted
