The room was grim and mean, and the bar supper took place at a drafty corner table by the outside door with bench seating so uncomfortable that my back hasn’t recovered yet. The place was so grim we left without staying. The facilities were terrible.

I found the place a mile off the main road, but the scenery was gorgeous. It felt like a local favorite, busy and welcoming, with friendly staff and owners. The food was good and the breakfast was excellent. The room I stayed in, number 4, was a bit tight. My colleague in room 1 had a private bathroom on the other side of the corridor, but someone had already used it during the day.
