The location is good, but the bedroom TV lacks subtitles, making it inaccessible for deaf or hearing‑impaired guests. I stayed two nights; on the second day the room was not cleaned, the bed was unmade, and the bin had not been emptied.

The chap behind the bar was super helpful with my check‑in, and free parking is available at the rear. The hotel is close to the airport, which was convenient for me in the morning. There was a generous supply of tea bags, coffee, sugar, sweetener, hot chocolate, and free water. However, the carpet in the single room was filthy and would benefit from a thorough cleaning—just a couple of hours would noticeably improve the room’s appearance.

“What a find.”

Richard, the landlord, was friendly and informative and cooks a very good breakfast. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room contained everything you could possibly need: bottled water, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, a small bar of soap, and even a slip mat for the shower. The white, soft towels were lovely. The location was very close to Gosfield Hall, where I was attending a wedding, and the value for money was excellent.

“Friendly comfortable and inviting.”

This place is very convenient for any local events. Richard, the friendly landlord, is a lovely guy who serves a decent breakfast, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. I can’t think of anything I didn’t like; it’s a pub with rooms upstairs, so there’s not much to complain about.
