“Gute Lage, saubere, einfache Zimmer, gutes Frühstück am Tisch”

The location worked well for us – not too loud for a big city, tram right outside the door, easy links to the old town, EGA, and the central bus station at Bahnhof or Anger, so you can get everywhere without a car. Breakfast at the inn was always sufficient, extra hot drinks were provided, and the spread from eggs to sausage, cheese and various sweet spreads covered everything. Our room with a bathroom was spacious, and towels, sheets, soap, toilet paper and a hair dryer were all there. The owners were reachable as contacts, usually in the morning over breakfast. The breakfast room with terrace matched its style and felt very inviting. The genuinely old wooden furniture with matching accessories made you want to linger. The overall décor was a bit off‑beat, old‑fashioned and partly in need of refurbishment. Still, it was acceptable for staying overnight and a few hours in the evening; the TV worked and the Wi‑Fi was reliable. Too many items clutter the inn, they don’t really go together. The smell from the furniture and floor covering was somewhat unpleasant “old‑timey”, and the bathroom had a similar odor, though it wasn’t dirty. The room and bathroom were clean. During our 5‑day stay there was no room service. Parking was uncertain – you can park on side streets and sidewalks, but it’s not always free and sometimes you have to park farther away, which was a hassle on the first day with luggage.
