“Le terrazze sul fritto”
The room and entrance were nice, staff were responsive, and the cleaning was good. Wi‑Fi worked. Note that parking below the building is paid; you should go to the adjacent square as the staff advised. The place is right in the center of Pulsano if that’s what you’re after. I’m not usually one to leave negative reviews, but I’m very disappointed. The building sits above a restaurant that fries every day, blocking the terrace with a fried‑food smell. You can’t open the room windows to change the air during the day or night. The kitchen hood and extractor are right next to the terrace, making it impossible to open the bathroom window without filling the room with frying odor. The room isn’t sound‑proof; the door is a generic interior door with a pass‑key that bangs every time someone opens or closes the main door. You hear every single thing said or done in the hallway, so the alarm is at most 8 am each morning with other guests coming and going and cleaning staff doing their job. The furnishings are almost non‑existent (no wardrobe, only a bar with hangers, no places to put things or towels, no bathroom supports). The bed/pillow is uncomfortable (back pain for a week). There are no blackout curtains except a clear one; if light bothers you, don’t expect darkness in the room. I’m very disappointed, slept terribly for a week, and it was frankly hard to manage for two people; we didn’t even know where to put our towels. I would not recommend it unless you only need a one‑night stop for someone leaving early in the morning. If you want to relax for a few days, it’s not suitable in my opinion. I’m still amazed at the excellent reviews that I can’t understand how they match reality; I hope they refer to another room (ours was 103) and the period when the restaurant/pizzeria below was closed.
