I was very happy that, when I asked, I got a quiet room. That matters a lot to me because city noises are stressful. The hotel is well maintained and looks good. The smoking restaurant sometimes spills into the foyer area.

The place is amazing, surrounded by cafés and souvenir shops, right next to Gubeng train station and within walking distance of Tunjungan Plaza; the property itself is tidy, the breakfast is great, and the staff are very friendly and helpful, even offering the legendary Sirup Telasih at reception. The only nitpick is that extra hangers or wall hangers for outerwear would be useful, and a hairdryer would be nice, although I know that’s often not standard unless you request an upgrade.
