The room was fine. But when we booked through a third‑party site, the price was inflated: the hotel’s own rate is 90 € for two people with breakfast, yet we were charged 95 € plus an extra 18 € for breakfast. We only found out about the extra cost when we arrived. They know there’s no other option because Westernhausen is a small town with nothing else to offer.

We asked for a quiet room, but got one right above the parking lot, with gravel that lets you hear cars backing out, and also near the street. To reach the breakfast area you have to leave the building, which is unpleasant in bad weather or winter. Given these shortcomings, the price didn’t feel justified.

It’s nicely located on the bike path with a pleasant terrace by the stream. The annex building has new rooms and the staff are friendly. The breakfast buffet was a bit narrow and nothing was added. The dining room has been overdue for renovation for about 15 years.

Everything was very good, I’ll come back. The hotel is well positioned on the bike path and caters to cyclists. In the evening a table was reserved for me in the beer garden. The dishes are recommended.
