The location was beautiful, and the welcome was very kind and friendly. The hosts were attentive. We will return if we visit the island again. The only complaint was that the roosters woke us up in the morning; that was basically the only issue, otherwise the area was quiet. Maybe they could keep the roosters in a different part of the property. They kept crowing on the veranda and woke us up.

We had a really lovely stay at The Secret Garden … Frank was really helpful … really good communication; also, helped us to arrange transport (even taking us to pick up a bike); and letting us use the public area for our work. The place was really new and clean … everything you needed for a really enjoyable stay!. The only thing is, you probably do need your own transport to get around … shops, restaurants etc, but as I said, Frank helped us with that, so no problem!

I loved hanging out on the patios of my cottage here! The cottages are neat and simple, with the showers having the only actual hot water I have experienced in Thailand so far. The coffee at the cafe is great. Joy and Frank were very helpful with getting me a bike to ride around the island (very fun, but the island is quite big so I definitely did not see all of it), getting a great deal on a private boat tour, helping me with other transportation, etc. The location is very peaceful and local- feeling. I don’t think you can go wrong staying at The Secret Garden. I agree that the towels were a bit musty. I do wish there was a way to fill up water bottles so as not to use plastic bottles (Frank and Joy do make sure you always have enough water to drink, which was very kind)

The place was spotless and tidy, and the hosts were very friendly and helpful, giving us great local tips and assisting with on‑site bookings, but the towels had a slightly musty smell.

The owner is extremely friendly and pleasant, and they know how to treat guests well.
