The hotel's seclusion is a blessing and a curse. On one hand, the views of the river are simply stunning, but on the other hand, it's a bit of a trek to get to any local amenities. Still, the peaceful atmosphere makes up for the inconvenience.

The bed was super comfy and the bedroom was immaculately clean, which is a big plus. However, the hotel's smoking policy is a major turn-off - you can't escape the smell of smoke anywhere, from the lobby to the cafe to the casino. To make matters worse, the shuttle broke down on the way back to Vientiane, leaving us to wait in the blistering heat for a new one. And to top it all off, the food was pretty mediocre for a 4-star hotel.
