The lodge was basic but clean and comfortable; the bed was decent, and the shower was good. The location was excellent, and we enjoyed a nice view from the balcony. The staff were very helpful. For the price, it was a good deal. The television was tiny; a larger one would be better. The only other drawback was the drive from the main road to the site—we didn’t realize it was 2 miles on a single‑track road.

The location is great, and the staff we met were friendly and helpful. The grounds are fantastic with deer, horses, and a friendly goose that greets you enthusiastically. The bar is warm and well‑appointed, with tasty food at a reasonable price. The accommodation we stayed in was dated and needed a refresh. For example, there were only two small electric heaters, and when we moved one, we discovered one of the legs was not attached. Also, one would expect towels to be provided rather than charged separately.

A lodge in the middle of the Scottish forest, next to a herd of deer and a few horses. The welcome was very warm. We enjoyed a musical evening hosted by the owner, who was very friendly. The lodge is a bit off the main roads, which take 15 minutes by car, but it gives access to all of northern Scotland. The lodge is starting to age (the TV wasn’t working and then was repaired; the table is a bit small) and some areas would benefit from a good cleaning (the sliding door). A light renovation would do well.

The location is friendly and welcoming, peaceful and quiet, with animals nearby and a restaurant on site. It was great; couldn’t complain about anything.

The property was fine but the location is not good – everything was far from this spot. The staff were not very helpful, and our experience was disappointing. When we made the booking, it was not clearly mentioned anywhere that we needed to bring our own towels; we only found out later and they charged us extra for towels, which was unexpected and unfair. This information should have been clearly stated before booking so guests can be properly prepared.
