The bar and dining area looked really nice and the shower was great, but we booked two self‑catering units that both sleep four and neither unit had at least four pieces of crockery or cutlery, no kitchen utensils, no pots or pans, nothing. The bathroom had no door or privacy solution, and the basin is so high that anyone shorter than 1.6 m cannot use it.

We loved everything! From the warm welcome of the staff to the meals (oryx steak and excellent vegetable gratin), the two rooms overlooking the park with giraffes and kudus, the calm by the illuminated water point – everything was pleasant. Nothing to add!

The owner was very kind and helpful when we asked to change rooms, giving us a much larger one. The first room we were given (for two people) was very dated; the cleaning was adequate, but as soon as we moved the sheets we found many spiders under the bedding. I asked the owner for help, and he moved us to the next free room: same situation, bed full of spiders under the sheets. I understand we’re in Namibia and insects in rooms are normal, but under the sheets is never acceptable. At that point the owner moved us to the four‑person villa (new and just built) and there the room was indeed very nice and clean. The property has great potential but would definitely need refurbishment (in the first two rooms the door didn’t touch the floor, leaving a 5 cm gap where anything could slip in). The pool was also quite dirty.

A very friendly host, a clean family room, and tasty food at the lodge’s restaurant. The location is quiet yet conveniently close to traffic, and overall the value for money, especially for the food, is excellent. The family room could use an additional stove for self‑catering, and you’ll have to wait a while for meals in the restaurant.
