Jungle Hut Resort Sigiriya

“Belle parenthèse au milieu de la nature malgré quelques améliorations nécessaires”

The natural surroundings and the friendliness of the staff were great, but the cleanliness (towels, room, etc.), the room and the pool differed from the photos, and there was no Wi‑Fi.

“Piacevole”

This small property is tucked into the Sri Lankan countryside, the staff are very helpful and welcoming, especially the manager. The room is particularly dark because of the brown walls, the bed is comfortable, and the air conditioning works well. The bathroom is very basic and you have to adapt. Because it is off the main road, getting to the main road to find a tuk‑tuk or taxi takes about a 20‑minute walk through villages and rice paddies. It is doable by day but not recommended at night because it is quite isolated. This means you are forced to use the tuk‑tuk arranged by the hotel, which costs a high, non‑negotiable price but provides good service. The bathroom was a problem. The pool was not in great condition; the water was green. We stayed two days and only after complaining did they fix it. It was perfect on the day of checkout… a pity 😅.

“Pour les amoureux de la nature et du confort sommaire”

The jungle immersion experience is great, the tree‑hugging cabins look nice in photos but are less comfortable day‑to‑day. The location is convenient for exploring only around Sigiriya by car. There was no hot water, the bedding was too hard, small ants were everywhere, and the pool lacked filtration.

“Lovely location, room average”

The location is stunning, surrounded by jungle, very peaceful and lush. The garden is beautiful and the bed was comfortable. Overall it was an okay experience but I wouldn’t book it again. The road to the place was very bumpy; our driver had to go very slowly to avoid damaging the car, so it took a long time to get there. The bathroom was very basic and old (wobbly toilet and old shower). The shower was powered by a faulty heater and the temperature was barely lukewarm. There were no towels in the room, we had to ask for them. It felt clean overall but the sheets had some stains on them.
