The room was super nice and the staff were very friendly. Overall, a great hotel and the location is perfect.

Our guest room opened onto the courtyard garden, which was pleasant; the street side would have been too noisy. The cool garden was nice, though we only got to use it once. The room was spacious enough for us and our dog and tastefully decorated. Unfortunately the booking didn’t mention that there was no breakfast; only a capsule‑coffee machine and a kettle with tea bags were provided for free, and the two‑person dishes were barely enough for a modest morning meal. No information was given about local shops, so to have a proper breakfast we had to drive 7 km to the bakery in Michldorf, then turn back because the planned hikes didn’t pass that way. Dinner was a hassle: the first night the restaurant in Schinagl was closed and the only recommendation, the Seewirt, shut at 7 pm; the second night Schinagl was still closed, forcing us again to go to Michldorf; finally on the third night we managed a cosy meal at Schinagl. Anyone staying there should expect very limited infrastructure.

The rooms are spacious and well equipped, but the downside is that they face a busy road. The on‑site restaurant was shut, and the hotel itself had no staff because of a seasonal break, giving the place a bit of a ghost‑town feel. This is a problem since Klaus offers almost nothing else, and we arrived by public transport for a weekend event in Nebendorf. The next morning we couldn’t reach the nearby petrol station with a shop (the main supplier was apparently closed on weekends and it’s a 25‑minute walk), making it virtually impossible to get breakfast or even a coffee. There are no vending machines in the village or the hotel for emergencies. For guests without a car, the stay isn’t really recommended despite the hourly train connection.

The apartment wasn’t clean and we didn’t know in advance that all facilities, the restaurant and bar were closed because they were on vacation. Really bad.
