We stayed at this lodge recently and the experience didn’t match the premium price. The location is lovely and the enclosed garden kept our dog safe. Still, maintenance, cleanliness and safety problems marred the stay. We found a sharp glass piece on the steps and an empty alcohol bottle on the grass. One bedside lamp was broken, outdoor decking lights were off, and an outdoor chair was unstable and fell apart. The hot‑tub tap was loose and the plug control was poorly fitted, causing it to fall off when the tub was on. Some dishes had food residue and needed washing. Curtains on the double doors were too narrow, leaving gaps and reducing privacy at night. We followed the dog‑on‑leash rule, but one evening another dog ran up to the gate, barking and frightening our Labrador, making him more reactive to people and other dogs later. The most disappointing part was that I privately messaged the host after our stay to give them a chance to fix things, but my message was ignored and I got no reply. If they had responded, I wouldn’t have posted this review. I’m leaving this so future guests can decide. The location has potential and some positives, but the maintenance, cleanliness and customer service don’t justify the price.
