“A hidden gem which once discovered will remain a favourite.”
We specifically chose this hotel as a destination and experience site. It’s a 120‑plus‑year‑old hotel with its own theatre, and the town is delightfully quirky without being ruined by over‑tourism. The beds were so comfy with proper feather pillows. If you love country settings that strongly nod to art deco, this is the place for you. It’s perfect for a break from fast life. The owners are really lovely. Breakfast was great. I could spend a week here. The surrounding area is picture‑perfect for slow walks, and I could see weddings, functions, and family holidays happening. You could book the whole place: 8 bedrooms and brand‑new bathrooms. Parking is no problem. This one is a gem. I’m fine with stairs, but I can see where they might be an issue; the stairs are very wide with a balustrade and easy to navigate.
