The food was great, the staff friendly, the bed super comfy, and the room nice, but I didn't like the dogs on the sofas in the bar area. On the first night I couldn't believe there were two dogs on the sofa and the owner was nowhere to be seen; the second night another dog was on the same sofa, walking up and down and licking it because it had the scent of the previous dogs. I'm a dog lover but this is just not right, just downright dirty. On the first night we were shown to our table, which I was not happy with and pointed to the table I preferred; I was told that table had been booked even though it wasn't. After an hour of accepting the first table a couple of guys came in and were not happy with their table, so the waitress gave them the table I had asked for and was told it was booked out :-(

The restaurant was good and the staff helpful, but Room 10 has a step up and a low ceiling that I tripped over because it wasn't easily seen, and I bumped my head!

The staff were lovely and the food excellent, but the room was cold—I asked for heating, and then heard rumbling in the pipes in the room, yet it still didn't warm up! The heated towel rail didn't work, the main light switch by the bed didn't work, and there was dirt/mould in the bathroom on the skirting boards by the shower.

The location is a 10‑minute direct bus ride from NEC to the hotel. Breakfast was amazing. The room was cosy and warm, the bed comfy, and the staff friendly.
