“Worst customer service”
I never heard the hostel was shut down, so I had to scramble for another place at the last minute and keep running up and down Ella. A quick message from them would have let me plan and find alternatives.
It’s not the ideal place, but it’s very cheap and offers stunning natural scenery. The owner is a nice young man and his parents are extremely friendly. The hostel is a bit far from the city center, though the bus stop is right across from the room. The 9 Arches Train isn’t far either—just a 40‑minute walk.
The owner was very nice and had a proper parking space. The bed and room were spacious, and the owner offered me morning tea free of charge—definitely a place I’ll recommend to everyone, and when I return to Ella next time I’ll stop here for sure. The only issue was that the bed sheets and blankets had a bad smell; I think they weren’t washed after the previous guest.
“Great place for a short stay.”
This spot is perfect for a short visit, especially since it’s close to the bus station and makes city connections a breeze. Renting a scooter from here was a huge help and let me finish my Ella tour in just two days, covering all the main sights easily. The downside is the constant traffic noise at night; the property sits near a bend on the main road, so drivers keep honking and it’s quite disruptive.
The staff gave me all the details and recommendations for places to visit. The hostel is about 3 km from the 9 Arches Bridge, which makes it easier to get there. It’s a little far from the city, but still walkable. Towels, blankets, and soap were provided, and the room was comfortable. The bathroom is decent but could use better cleaning and maintenance.
