Perched above the Saguenay Fjord, Auberge Cap au Leste provides rooms with baths and fjord or forest views. Guests enjoy sourced cuisine in an indoor restaurant or on a terrace, with a breakfast buffet of fruit and caramel jams. Trails, a fortress, lake swimming, canoeing, bike and ATV rentals, and proximity to Sainte‑Rose‑du‑Nord’s shops and nature museum complete the stay.

The spot is simply magical, and the staff are very friendly and attentive. I stayed in a room close to the reception in the Montagnais building, and it was clean. In mid‑September the place was lightly visited, so it was very quiet. The property changed owners in 2022, so ignore earlier comments. I had some worries before the trip. The dirt road was fully passable; I drove a sedan at 30‑50 km/h without risk and no potholes appeared. Some equipment was very new—beds, shower cabin, bedside lamps, coffee machine. The windows were new and well insulated, and the room had two fans (one portable and one ceiling). The set‑menu dinner was decent: avocado‑shrimp cream and starter, steak frites salad as the main, and tiramisu for dessert. Breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit (pineapple, melon, grapes, watermelon), yogurts, cold cuts, scrambled eggs, cereals, fruit juice, pastries, etc. The dinner was a bit pricey, and the delivery was not easy. Wi‑Fi was only in the main building and the signal was almost non‑existent, but a bit of disconnection was actually refreshing.

The location, the staff, and the overall vibe were great. The only downside was the ceiling fan in the room—it was very dusty, so I avoided using it to prevent dust from falling.

The spot was gorgeous—right by the water and with a view that made you feel like you were on top of the world. The only downside? No air conditioning, so the room stayed hot and stuffy.

The view was killer, and the terraces with those comfy chairs were perfect for a lazy afternoon. The whole place looked amazing, and the room’s décor was on point. We loved the hikes around the area, the bar, and the breakfast spread. Even offered to do our laundry for us, which was a nice touch. The only hiccup was the trail signs—so vague that we almost got lost a couple of times.
