“Beetje liefde nodig”

Good location, right next to the city centre and the station. The room had plenty of space, a large bed, and the bathroom had just been renovated. The mattress was a bit on the firm side and the springs poked through; a new mattress or a topper would be a nice upgrade. The curtain didn’t block out light and it smelled of cat urine.

Walking to the high street/university area takes about 15 minutes. The staff were approachable – when I asked for an ironing board they brought it up, and they even offered to carry my luggage. The bedroom was clean, but the bathroom was filthy, with toothbrush and soap splatters everywhere and dirty walls around the shower. I felt uncomfortable staying there. There was no hair dryer or iron in the room. I had a conference the next day and needed to wake up early. I went downstairs twice asking for a hair dryer, but no one brought it up. I texted and called the number, explaining I needed it before bed. I stayed up very late waiting and finally went to bed without washing my hair. Before bed I sent another text asking them to bring it in the morning, but they hadn’t, so I went to the conference and business meetings/networking without washing my hair. Fair enough – when I returned to the hotel in the evening the hair dryer was outside my room, but that was 24 hours after I had requested it. I had the same issue borrowing an iron for my clothes.

Location and beds were fine. The facilities felt very dated; the bathrooms needed a full redecorating and the carpets should be removed.

No breakfast, no cleaning, small ugly room. Anything else.

“In case of necessity the location is good”

The location was very good for us. The facility is old and needs attention. We didn’t have any problem, but if we had, we would find nobody to deal with.
