The Pickwick Hotel San Francisco

The breakfast at the nearby restaurant was really good, but the room was tiny, the cleaning was lacking, the hotel feels very old, and the area around is already quite run-down. We paid over 250USD per night, which is steep for a hotel that’s so degraded, with a minuscule and dirty room.

The location and most of the staff were very helpful and polite. The room facilities were in bad shape: the tap was dripping, the shower tap was defective, the soap dish in the shower was falling, and the room’s cleanliness left a lot to be desired.

“bom custo benefício, mas não espere muito”

The location is great for getting to the convention center and other parts of the city. Parking is awful – they crushed two of my car’s doors and I couldn’t even drive my car out of the garage while I was there, plus it’s super expensive. I strongly suggest parking on the other side of the street and handing over the key without touching your car.

“Confortable, muy tranquilo. Hay maquina de cafe en la habitacion.”

The place is well situated, close to the train for airport trips, a few blocks from the main square and shops, especially for dinner. The room is very spacious and comfortable, and the bed is very cozy. No staff spoke Spanish, some were a bit unfriendly when trying to communicate. It took 10 days to get the 150‑dollar security deposit refunded to my credit card, and they didn’t warn me beforehand that they would charge that deposit.
