Ski‑in access was great and renting gear from Salomon was convenient, but the room was cramped—four people on the bunk beds left no room to open a suitcase, the hotel’s hot‑spring facilities were tiny, and if you don’t eat at the hotel you have to walk down a steep slope to reach other restaurants, which is pretty inconvenient.

The hotel sits right on the ski slope and has a sulfur onsen, but the staff were grumpy and the food was just okay.

The food was amazing, the ski slopes were so close it’s almost unbelievable, and the onsen was sublime. The steps and lack of lifts made it hard to get to the onsen after a full day of skiing; walking up four flights of stairs for an hour in the onsen was tough.

The hotel is just a stone’s throw from the ski slopes, so the kids had a blast on the skis and the adults enjoyed the snow just as much 👍, but the bathroom inside the room was really tiny.
