We were offered champorado for breakfast, prepared by the owner at 4 am as we were leaving early to return to Manila. As a champorado lover, I can say it was probably the best I’ve had, cooked with Batangas cacao. Exceptional. We chose Calatagan Bahay Kubo because of its remoteness but found the roads into the property a bit rough. It’s not the owner’s responsibility. Be prepared for a bit of a bumpy ride but know you’ll be pleased when you reach the property.
