“Not the quality of a Days Inn we have come to expect in our travels unfortunately.”
The location was good, parking was nice and clear, mainly because there were few guests. The beds were comfortable. At check‑in I asked for a lower‑floor room, which was fine. The first room had several problems: the lamp in the middle of the beds didn’t work, the toilet‑paper holder was broken on one side, the towel bar was slightly loose, and the door latch was hanging on a single screw. I went back to the office and, on the way, looked at a few empty rooms that seemed clean and ready. I asked to switch rooms, but the employee said she had no other lower‑floor rooms. The lot was almost empty, and I mentioned one that looked clean and ready, but she said it was dirty and not yet cleaned. I told her it looked clean to me. She said I could check it out if I wanted, but I didn’t think I’d like it. We checked it out and found more problems: the toilet‑paper holder was broken on both sides, and the refrigerator’s little freezer section was completely missing. We needed that freezer, so we went back to our original room. The employee didn’t seem to care about the issues and offered no options for moving or helping us find a better room. At some point there was either a mouse or a rat in the room. After a long day and packing to leave the next day, I noticed bits of plastic and raisins on the floor where I had placed my bag of snacks from Target. I checked the bag and found a hole in one corner and the bottom corner of the trail mix was missing.
