The room is a short walk from the Reggia di Caserta, quiet, with simple but functional furnishings and very comfortable beds; the air conditioning works. However, there’s a strong damp and mold smell that also lingers in the shower, and the toilet seat wobbles. I’d suggest a raised step for kids since the sink is high and hard for a 4‑year‑old to reach even just to wash hands.

The location is ideal for reaching the Reggia and the train station. I can’t understand why the rating is so high. As soon as I opened the front door, a mold smell hit me, and the bathroom smelled like sewage. The air conditioner is present but doesn’t cool properly and makes a lot of annoying noise. The bathroom is full of mold on the walls and shower, with a column of ants around it. The window has a broken mosquito net and hanging mesh. The shower only offers two temperatures: freezing or boiling—no middle ground. The toilet paper is a new roll and an already used one (hygiene is questionable!). Dust is present on the desk. The double bed sits on a plywood frame and is not comfortable. The castle room is about 30 years old, creaky and rusty, with mattresses that are essentially useless and with unidentified stains on the pillow. In short, the value of the rent is only the location, nothing else.

The room is inside a courtyard, so there’s zero noise; it’s not huge but just enough to move around in four people. It was renovated a few years ago. The cleaning could definitely be improved, the air conditioner barely cools, and I would add a mini fridge to keep a few bottles of water cold. If it were possible to park in the courtyard, that would be great; otherwise the parking is a few hundred metres away and costs between 25 and 30 euros for one night.

Just a few steps from the Reggia di Caserta, the room is comfortable but could use a few improvements.
