“No vale lo que cuesta”
The room had a private bathroom and a very comfortable bed. However, the place had just changed owners—this listing on the platform belongs to the old owner, so don’t book here. When I arrived, I had to wait for someone to show up; two hours later, I was told my reservation didn’t exist even though it was confirmed and paid through the platform. They explained that the property had been sold a month earlier and my payment had gone to the former owner, or so they said. After speaking with the previous owner, they told me they’d transfer my money to them because otherwise they were demanding extra payment for my stay. Meanwhile, I found two contact numbers on the door, which turned out to belong to the old owner, and they told me to leave because there was an address error—this felt very suspicious and I briefly thought it was a scam. They then offered me a better room because the one I’d booked smelled damp (normal for the humid season), but I had to pay an extra €100 for an upstairs room with air conditioning and a private hot‑water bathroom. Yet I spent two days showering with cold water because they didn’t know how the hot water worked. One night, after having a drink, the main door was closed and could only be opened from inside. It was raining, I was with a Filipino friend, and I tried to force the door, shouting and throwing stones at the windows for 20 minutes, but no one opened it (there was always staff inside). I had to jump over a fence from the neighboring property because I knew I could access the hotel through the courtyard. They apologized, but I still had to endure the thought of sleeping on the street and the wet fence climb.
