Breakfast had many options, and the deluxe double bed was huge; the hotel faces the pleasant view of the Wang Anui River. However, the hotel sits on a major traffic artery, and trains pass by at night.

The front‑desk staff were neither overly enthusiastic nor overly formal, just matched our pace with genuine kindness. We arrived around 9 pm and thought the hotel offered free parking, but we actually had to pay a 42‑NZD fee for valet parking; I thought that was pricey, so I checked nearby street parking, found some homeless people, and the nearby payment machines didn’t work, so I ended up back at the hotel. The front‑desk staff remained warm and friendly, which put me at ease.
