Stationen, located beside Ystad Station and Ferry Terminal, is a 5-minute walk from the main square, Stortorget. This 19th-century station-turned-hotel offers harbour views and simply decorated rooms with seating areas. Guests can choose between private or shared bathroom facilities, and enjoy free WiFi throughout. The hotel features a cosy breakfast room, common room with TV, books, toys, and games, and is a short 10-minute walk to Marinan Beach.

The hotel is perfectly located next to Ystad’s train station and the Bornholm ferry terminal, with charming décor featuring beautiful antiques and furnishings. The breakfast is superb, using fresh ingredients with a good mix of savory and sweet options, and the self‑check‑in is easy. When we left, we could store our luggage in large lockers that can be locked with a code. The staff were only seen at breakfast and during check‑out, but they were all very friendly. Our room was on the attic, a later addition. It was a beautiful, modern room but the ventilation was poor; opening the roof window let in air, but it couldn’t stay open all night during October’s cool weather. The sound insulation on the attic stairs and hallway floor was bad, so everything from the hallway could be heard in the room, though fortunately not from room to room.

The room is bright and airy with good beds, a very good breakfast, and it’s close to the city center.

Breakfast was good and modest, with fresh bread (including scones) and a nice selection in the breakfast hall. We stayed in room 9, probably the smallest, but it was fine for us, overlooking the ferry terminal and the sea, with a private bathroom in the corridor just a few steps from the room, accessible by its own code. The whole station used to be a railway station, which shows in the atmosphere—very nice! (Now the commuter trains to and from Malmö/Copenhagen are just outside the station, so if you’re sensitive to noise you might want a room facing the sea.) The location is close to everything, and the staff are always friendly. If you’re driving an electric car, there’s a charging spot right across the street, opposite Pressbyrån.
