I was shocked when the hotel cancelled my confirmed booking on the day of arrival, right after I had already reached Salento. The lack of responsibility toward guests is a common practice here, as I discovered from other comments.

The surrounding nature was lovely, but the service left a lot to be desired. They charged me for using the washing machine and expected me to clean the room myself, which felt wrong for my first vacation at a hotel. The receptionist even told my daughter that she shouldn’t talk to other guests, as if she had some special authority.

They cancelled my reservation after I informed them I would arrive late at night; I was only 15 minutes from the hotel when they refunded me, leaving me and my family and our dogs stranded at 11 pm on a Saturday.
