Friendly service, spacious place, and the room is equipped with several useful facilities, but at night the downtown area gets a bit noisy and you can hear some street noise.

Hostal Río Paraná sits on the third floor of a 19th‑century building, just 100 m from Puerta del Sol. Its bright rooms feature wooden floors, flat‑screen TVs, private bathrooms, air conditioning, and balconies overlooking the street. A 24‑hour reception offers free WiFi, a lounge, and local Madrid guidance. Nearby, Sol Metro, Prado, and Reina Sofía are within walking distance.

The hostel is in an absolutely central spot with plenty of sights, a restaurant, a bar, and entertainment within walking distance. I didn’t expect more for the price; cleanliness was fine, but the bathtub’s rubber was already heavily worn. The furniture is very retro. The indoor air‑conditioning unit is terribly dirty, moldy, and I don’t recommend using it. The advantage of being in the city center is also a drawback because the club’s noise is loud all night, especially if there’s a party. Overall, that’s what I expected for the price, but unfortunately I can’t give it an 8.

The spot is great, right next to Sol, and it’s not noisy even though it’s on a street full of bars and restaurants; everything is spotless. The room feels old, with a dated bathroom, furniture, and overall décor, but the mattress is comfortable.

The location is superb, the lift is tiny but works well, and they’ll hold your luggage until check‑out after you leave the room. The pillows are made of foam and should be replaced, although the mattresses are comfortable.
