La Taverna

We enjoyed a fantastic stay at La Taverna, a stunning spot with beautiful rooms and the best hosts. Breakfast was incredible and we felt like family. It’s very private and a great place to unwind and experience the Sicilian lifestyle.

“Lovely hosts made for a super stay”

The Taverna sits on the edge of Floridia in a private olive estate surrounded by walls, and the rooms are housed in converted farm buildings at the end of an olive‑tree‑lined drive. Maria and Etore were wonderful hosts, very welcoming, and the three dogs and many cats were super friendly. The accommodation was set up to our needs and was spotless every day; everything we could ask for—kettle, tea, milk, glasses—was provided. Breakfast took place in a building next door and featured an array of Sicilian foods, homemade jam, cakes, breads, biscuits, coffee/tea, cheeses—all delicious. It’s a great spot for exploring the southeast side of the island. The only downside was the lack of a pool, but with water scarce we understood why, and we enjoyed sitting outside in the private grounds.

“Un luogo perfetto dove rilassarsi a due passi da Siracusa”

We were greeted with smiles and pampered throughout our stay. The owners, Mrs. Maria and Ettore, are exquisite, attentive, and available to guests. The room was very spacious with comfortable beds, the bathroom very comfortable, and the cleanliness at the highest level. We traveled by motorcycle and could park under the shade of the many trees surrounding the property. We felt right at home and will definitely return to this beautiful agriturismo immersed in greenery.

Maria and Ettore! They are adorable, endearing people who care about every detail. They are very attentive, very human, and their welcome is a rare exception that we will never forget—impossible! We will come back to them without any problem. Thank you again for your hospitality and kindness! We highly recommend their very comfortable, very clean lodging and the exceptional breakfast prepared by Maria and Ettore with fresh products, fruits, delicious fruit juices, and remarkable pastries. Ideal location. Surrounded by nature but a stone’s throw from services, highways, and the provincial capital. With the hosts (Maria and Ettore) a connection was immediately established that you don’t find elsewhere. The “bio” breakfast is of the very highest quality. I will definitely return (for work and/or vacation).
