“Accoglienza è un’altra cosa. Peccato perché il posto è proprio bello”

The building is very pretty and in perfect English style. We arrived and no staff were present; arriving guests didn’t know what to do, and the keys and a map with unclear directions were found on a desk. In the room the temperature was extremely high; we tried calling from the room to ask for a fan but got no response, and guests were wandering around the building looking for fans. As soon as I entered the room, the floor was lower than the corridor, so I almost fell because it wasn’t marked, and the room was obviously dark.

“Ok as a quiet place out of the hustle and bustle”

The location was nice and peaceful, parking was great, and the bed was comfortable. The shower over the bath was hard to use with a disability, and the temperature‑controlled taps were difficult to master, with water coming either cold or scorching. The carpet could use a shampoo, which I’m sure will happen now that the summer season is over.

“We traveled there for a family funeral, so not a happy trip.”

The location was excellent and easy to find thanks to big roadside signs. I’m not a fan of continental breakfast, but it was either that or cereal and toast.

This was my second visit to the Moonraker Hotel; it has changed owners since my last stay. The reception was friendly, and our room was at the back of the hotel—a beautiful, clean, warm, and comfortable room. After a 15‑hour journey, we hoped to have dinner on arrival, but we were told there was no chef, so no food and not even a slice of toast. That was disappointing 😕 Also no chef in the mornings to cook breakfast; only continental breakfast was available for £9.50 per person. It said on booking there was no chef on Sundays and Mondays, but we arrived on a Tuesday, yet still no cooked breakfast. However, we had our evening meal on Wednesday and it was outstanding. There was also a lot of work being carried out in the gardens and car park, which was not mentioned on the booking 🤔
