Minshuku Shizu

A pure Japanese-style room exactly as in the photos, with a separate toilet and shower; the room next to mine is the host’s, which made me feel extra safe. When I climbed the stairs outside, I saw some insects and geckos, but once inside there were none. It looked very traditional and simple, but the cleaning was spot‑clean; the kids were happy rolling on the tatami. I was a little worried about food spilling on the tatami, so I was extra careful while eating. The pillow had a grainy, slightly hard texture, so I had to lie flat on the bed to fall asleep. I’d love to stay again if I get the chance, I really liked the pure Japanese space.

The room was quiet and very clean. The owner was friendly and took us to a supermarket the first day for groceries. The price‑quality ratio was great, and the place was tidy and simple. The location is isolated, and because I couldn’t rent a car due to a license issue, it was a bit inconvenient and I had to rely on public transport and taxis.

“Great owner, comfortable traditional tatami room”

The place was spotless and peaceful, with a traditional tatami room that felt comfortable. The owner was very helpful, driving us to pick up groceries and to the Blue Cave since we didn’t have a car. There weren’t many restaurants nearby, but Oki Smash Burger had just opened while we were staying.

The owners were extremely friendly. Because the spot is a bit remote, they offered to drive me to the konbini if I needed and even to the nearest bus stop after checkout. I left my phone behind, so I had to return to the hotel, where they gave me coffee and then drove me to the bus stop again, even though it was my mistake. It was very kind. The hotel is also very close to the sea, and there’s a beautiful beach nearby.

The tatami inn was very clean and comfortable, giving you the feel of a Japanese house. The cotton comforter had a sun‑baked scent that made sleep very pleasant. The owner was friendly, helped carry luggage up the stairs, and spoke Chinese.
