“Wonderful experience. Very sorry to leave and will definitely come again.”
The views were wonderful, the place was very quiet, and the village felt traditional. The host was lovely and nothing caused any trouble. Nothing else to add.

The village is isolated, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing and disconnecting, about 25 minutes from Peso da Régua. The bed was very comfortable and the owner is friendly. Outside there’s a table with chairs that makes good use of the outdoor space, and there’s plenty of parking. The pool was turned off and we weren’t told about it. There were no basic amenities, like simple welcome coffee capsules, which I think would have made a big difference. The rest of the house (e.g., the upper patio) was underused, lacking chairs or tables; the area overlooking the Douro could have had something. Traveling between Peso da Régua and the house at night is challenging.

The place was spotless, very quiet, beautifully furnished, and the apartment was spacious.

The stay was absolutely amazing, far exceeding our expectations. We stayed in the Luxe apartment, which was more like a studio of 50 m², the size of an ocean, with a kitchen, bathroom, and a closet that practically served as another room. Outside, there was a dedicated table for meals, snacks, or drinks. The pool was well maintained, and there were two terraces—one lower and one higher, a genuine solarium—with a stunning view of the Douro River and surroundings. Fruit trees provided honey‑drizzled figs and delicious peaches (with proper permission). The host, Daniel Gomes, was a true Douro‑style personality—friendly, simple, professional, always available, and engaging in conversation, making us feel like we had known him for twenty years. The location has already become part of our itinerary. Covelinhas is a calm, beautiful, and refreshing place with plenty to do: hikes, trails, trains (all trains stop in Covelinhas) to Pinhao, Tua, or Regua. Don’t miss the famous round trip to Pocinho along the river. By car, you can do the same, but via the southern side of the river on the famous N222 road. You can also hike up to the S Leonardo da Galafura viewpoint for a 360° view that will take your breath away. The access road through the Bagauste dam might be a bit scary at times (lack of river-side protection and a difficult two‑car crossing), but a few horn blasts and some adaptation will sort it out, at least during the day. A big hug and many thanks to Daniel Gomes.

The location was excellent, though the road was narrow, it offered a very good view. The apartment was very clean. The living‑room sofa could be improved, and the fridge was a bit noisy.
