Oceanus Retreat

I recently stayed at Oceanus Retreat and found it very pleasant. The property offers a peaceful atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle, making it a great place to relax. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well‑maintained. I especially liked the calm surroundings and the courteous staff, who were always ready to help with a smile. Check‑in and check‑out were smooth, and overall service was prompt and professional. The food was tasty, and the facilities were sufficient for a comfortable stay. Whether you’re visiting for business or a short getaway, Oceanus Retreat offers good value for money and a relaxing environment. I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful stay in the Kollam area. I’m looking forward to visiting again. The only downside was a nearby temple blasting loud music and chants every day with a speaker aimed at the retreat, and the location of the retreat was a bit interior, away from the main road.

The place was clean and well‑maintained, and the owner was reachable by text or call. If you plan to leave the hotel late for something or come back late, it would be very difficult to get in because they lock the main gate. The owner was kind enough to call the property staff and open the gate for us, but I felt awkward having to call someone to open a gate; installing a doorbell or night‑time security would help.

The location was good, the swimming pool was big and well‑maintained, and the cleanliness and friendliness of the host and staff were appreciated. The AC was noisy and the fan wasn’t working properly, but they offered me another room, which helped a bit. These issues should have been spotted during routine checks and are not acceptable. There were no plug points in the bedroom, and the TV only worked in the living room, forcing us to stay with the facilities as built rather than how we wanted. I would definitely want to watch TV in the bedroom and have a charging point nearby. Basic stuff was missing. I stayed for 3 days; all 3 days the breakfast was the same with no single item changed. The taste and menu were downright bad, not worth the price paid. It was a stay with a lot of hassles, but the friendly staff made it somewhat likable.

I spent a night at Oceanus Retreat in Kollam and it was a smooth stay. The pool, though unused, looked pristine and well kept. The owners were warm and welcoming, even setting up a cozy buffet breakfast that tasted great. The caretaker was friendly and always ready to help with anything. The room was comfortable and quiet, making for a relaxed visit. The only small issue was a bit of temple noise that might bother light sleepers, but it didn’t outweigh the excellent service and hospitality. 👍
