Yunokawa Prince Hotel Nagisatei, in Hakodate's historic 350-year-old hot-spring district, features rooms with en-suite open-air baths offering sea views of Tsugaru Strait or Hakodate City. The hotel provides tatami-floored rooms with Japanese futon beds, free WiFi, and air conditioning. A 10-minute drive from Hakodate Airport, it serves Japanese and Western buffets on-site, with nearby access to JR Hakodate Train Station and Hakodate Goryokaku Fort.

The open‑air bath let me see the sea and feel the tide’s breeze, which was wonderful, and the food was delicious.

The room’s sea view is perfect, and the private onsen also faces the ocean. The buffet breakfast and dinner are tasty with a wide variety, but the in‑room facilities feel a little old.

I could eat and soak in the onsen while enjoying the ocean view, which was great. The location itself was a bit disappointing because the station is a little far and there are few restaurants around the hotel.
