A beautiful, small, well‑maintained hotel in Fuzhou’s newly touristy old harbor area, easily reachable via Dadao metro station, with a very welcoming and personal reception and a tasty classic breakfast; staying two nights here was a pleasure.

Hangshe Hostel really stands out because of its location right by the canal, with music drifting over the lanterns – the vibe is genuinely charming and the photos don’t lie. The bed was comfy and the single room suited me perfectly, though trying to fit two suitcases in there would be a squeeze. Just a heads‑up: the bathroom is separated only by a curtain and the walls are thin, so it’s pretty noisy, but they do provide earplugs and it didn’t bother me. I’d definitely come back.

The spot is fantastic and the staff are warm and welcoming, plus the local‑style breakfast was delicious. I liked how the old‑building architecture blends with the modern amenities. One thing that would make a family stay easier is a proper wooden or sliding door for the bathroom – it would give a lot more privacy and convenience. Overall a solid experience.

“Außergewöhnlich stilvolles Hotel in toller Lage”

Staying in the renovated old‑town district was a treat – the area is lively at night, full of restaurants and a book‑shop café that serves a solid cappuccino. My Superior room was spacious, came with a kettle, bathrobe, slippers and decent toiletries, and the daily cleaning left the place spotless; they even greeted me with a basket of fruit, tea and snacks. The only snag is that if you don’t speak Chinese, you’ll need Google Translate for most conversations.
