Hotel Atlantis

Tuleca is the gateway to the Danube Delta, so it was a great spot for our fantastic boat tour and a leisurely evening walk along the riverside promenade; the breakfast was good. Unfortunately, the mosquito net in our apartment was broken and there was a tree in front of the window, so we spent a while chasing mosquitoes at night; the air conditioner worked only in one room.

The place is terrible: we were booked through a reservation system that didn’t charge us, but when we arrived there was no room reserved for us, they offered nothing in return, and we were left without accommodation.

“Foarte frumos, recomand”

We felt extraordinary, especially since the choir sang until midnight; the staff were very kind, the food was good, and the room was clean. I only found a triple room, but we combined it and had an amazing birthday. I was even proposed to at this hotel, which made the experience perfect—we highly recommend it. The only minor issue was that there were no fresh towels because they were being laundered, so we each used a single towel, which would have been a problem if there had been none at all.

“Slab”

The price was reasonable and it’s close to the center. The place was a mess: the bathroom had toothpaste stains from previous guests, dust everywhere, a filthy balcony, and a ragged curtain. The receptionist was extremely bored.

The price was reduced. When we arrived, Hotel Atlantis had no towels for us, which was the smallest problem. We paid 20 Lei less than agreed. As soon as we entered the room, a strong stale odor hit us, probably from the carpet. The bathroom door also had to stay shut because otherwise it smelled like a sewage plant. The entire wet area had mold. In the evenings, despite the fly screen, we had huge mosquito problems and were covered in bites. At night we heard rats in the ceiling. We would be glad if this hotel is no longer recommended.
