“Great setting and lovely hotel”
Hot tub in October and peaceful surroundings. Great 1‑night stay, food and drink options from the bar and restaurant. The room was a little small, but it was only for 1 night after an extended holiday.

Pleased it wasn’t raining as the dining room is not in the same building. Staff were polite and efficient but at retched. No salmon available.

The front desk team was very helpful, but the food was low quality except for breakfast. The waiters seemed clueless about what they were serving and it took a long time; plus you can’t eat soup with a fork. The rooms were dark, making it hard to read.

I booked this hotel a year ago for the great north run, expecting a pool and leisure facilities, but they were closed for renovations when I arrived; if I’d known, I’d have cancelled. The hotel itself is still good and the restaurant is quality, but the lack of leisure facilities was a let‑down.

Thee location, the views but the staff were incredible especially the housekeepers, nothing was too much trouble !. Not really dislike just unfortunate that the spa facilities are being updated
