The sauna, indoor pool, in‑house bar and excellent breakfast were highlights, yet on Saturday the pool was closed and the water was sloshing—reception blamed a power outage from a lightning strike, which made no sense to us, and we received no compensation for the inconvenience.

We stayed for a short wellness weekend and everything was lovely; breakfast was fantastic and varied, the place felt very family‑friendly, and we learned a lot about the hotel’s history, which was fascinating.
