A charming little hut in a quiet spot; we arrived in mist and drizzle but it probably looks stunning in better weather. I got a text in the early afternoon confirming it was ready and the entry code, so there were no arrival hassles. We were celebrating our anniversary and my birthday, and the owners had put up banners inside – very sweet. The hut was clean and cozy, with a log burner and a storage heater if needed; despite the rain it was humid outside, so even with the window open the hut stayed warm. There’s a gas camping stove, a kettle, and a small fridge, all handy; the vertical space is used well with fold‑out shelves, and the sockets offer charging. The bathroom is perfect, with a spacious shower area and a WC with privacy curtains, plus towels. Overall it was a brilliant stay, unusual and exactly what we needed. The only personal gripe is that I like background noise; there was no TV or radio, so we used our phones, but next time I’ll bring a small radio 😁

I thought the place offered decent value for the price.

The bed was comfy, but there was no shower gel or shampoo, just a couple of teabags and two milk capsules. The wood burner had no wood; we were told we couldn’t bring our own and had to buy from a shop that was never open, which felt a bit stingy. The shower temperature flipped from hot to cold every minute, and there were no leaflets about local activities. The pub they suggested for dinner had only a two‑star food hygiene rating.
