I liked the pictures and the character, but it was confusing to find my room at night and the air conditioning didn’t work. I didn’t feel secure staying there, didn’t sleep well the first night, and should have moved to a new hotel that night. I only stayed one night out of my four because my friends were there too; their room wasn’t reserved, so they got a new hotel and I moved with them. In my friend’s room she also stepped on a piece of glass.

The spot was perfect—great history, great vibe, and everything was a 20‑minute walk or a 5‑6 minute drive away, which I absolutely loved. The only downside was that the fridge never worked during our stay, while the freezer was fine; by the time we realized the fridge was slow to cool, our trip was almost over, but otherwise no complaints.

No breakfast was offered, but the master bathroom was the best ever and the mattress was decent; the manager was excellent, though the person in the room above us was noisy at times while we were sleeping.

The location is convenient to the French Quarter and Frenchmen Street, but we stayed on a very cold day and the window unit couldn't heat the room enough; the old building was pretty drafty.

The location was amazing and the “upstairs” rooms where my friends stayed seemed fine, and I liked the greenery. However, we booked the “double room with terrace,” which turned out to mean only the outdoor space at the front of the building—completely misleading. The room was on the ground floor, felt like a basement, had no windows at all (photos show windows but they’re fully obstructed, making the space completely dark), ceiling heights were only about 7 feet, and the large footprint didn’t fit me; being claustrophobic, I had an actual panic attack when I woke up there. It felt sketchy and downright unpleasant, so I wouldn’t recommend it.
