Guest House Wind Inn Hakuba

It was a nice, comfortable stay with laundry, a bath if you wanted, a kitchen, and a comfortable bed; I was the only guest then, so it felt relaxing after long hiking days, and the location worked well for me even though I had a car. If it were busier, the bathrooms might not offer the privacy you’d expect.

“Another welcoming stay. Home away from home.”

I returned with my daughter after staying here years ago, and the manager was extremely helpful with everything we needed; the room was warm, spacious, and had a private ensuite. It’s within walking distance of the ski lifts, and there’s also a free shuttle bus that runs all day, so I highly recommend this place. He even went out of his way to help us find the right transport and speaks good English.1 The only downside was that we couldn’t stay longer, and we didn’t get the powder we had hoped for, but that’s weather.

The simplicity and environment were great, but the shared bathroom was cold.

The property’s location is exceptional, close to the slopes, very comfortable, clean, and well-heated; it has every amenity you need for a ski trip, and the hotel staff were incredible, helping with everything and very attentive.
