Location was good and convenient right on the center, and its actual real renovated and “modernized” cave, breakfast was good. Most horrible stay I have ever had for any price point, including hostels. 1. extremely humid to the point of feeling dizzy, and there was visible mold 2. Not a 1bedroom, no door, and few other mismatches with the listing 3. The beds were the worse quality beds I have ever experienced, extremely cheap low quality, the sofa bed is half broken, the cheapest kind you can imagine. The full bed is even worse, it’s cheap old matress, you can immidelty feel, impossible to sleep on. 4. The staff and reception was extremely hostile, they even yelled at us and screamed at us why we contacted ! Just crazy behavior by them. Overall the worse value I have ever gotten(that’s a 500$ a night) we simply checkout earlier due to the quality

Overall, the location and quality of the property were very good. The breakfast really needs to be improved; it was limited in choice and quality.

The location, the staff, and a very beautiful room were all great. We were locked in the room because our key was extremely difficult to operate in and out, and it needs fixing; the couple I was with experienced the same problem.

The hotel is absolutely stunning: multiple rooms carved into the rock right in Matera’s Sassi district. The rooms are all furnished to a high standard, and our suite even had a bath. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The room had air conditioning, which helped during the 36‑degree heat. A nice buffet breakfast is served in the intimate cave dwelling near the reception area. The hotel staff are very friendly and attentive.
