“Don’t stay in this False Riad”
The property is in a good location for the Medina’s Fes. We stayed just for a night. The property isn’t like in the photo. And the cleaning is very very poor. We arrived in the late afternoon after a long journey from Chefchaouen. Since we couldn’t modify the reservation and it was too late to find another Riad, we stayed in the room that was given to us, which does not resemble the photos or the description at all. The Riad feels like a private residence rather than a structure intended to accommodate tourists. The building shows clear signs of decay: broken windows, doors to the room that do not close properly, no heating system, mold and dampness on the wall next to the bed, and a bathroom in a dilapidated state with several broken and damaged tiles and additional mold. In the morning, when we went to the breakfast area, we even found a dead bird on the floor. Breakfast itself seemed to have been brought from somewhere else, as the plate was presented to us fully wrapped in plastic. We decided to book this (false) Riad because of its convenient location, and at €50 per night, we expected a certain level of quality. However, the price is absolutely not justified given the poor service and the condition of the building.
“Fantastico”
Everything perfect, spotless and welcoming. Simo is a fantastic person, treated us like sisters and made us feel at home ❤️.
Breakfast, friendliness and the owner's helpfulness.
Very good location. The owner is relaxed, friendly, available and very kind. Kudos to him! Our room was very big and the riad has the potential to become quite wonderful. We got scammed in another Riad in Fes which we had booked online, where the guys invented an excuse and tried to move us to another place asking for double the price. We then found this riad with very little reviews. That's because this is an historic building which has just being started as a riad for guests and it is now under renovation. The riad is not perfect yet but the owner was incredibly kind, helpful and friendly. Overall we had a nice stay. The toilet was not very clean. The room felt a little cold and there was no heating system in our room (we were in December). The owner lend us a gas heater but still the room was so big it was pretty ineffective. The Riad is under renovation and it looks empty, bare and undecorated. However the structure is amazing and I'm sure it will soon be a wonderful riad once the renovation is over
